Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") apply to access to and use of Syllaro Academy, including the website at https://www.syllaro-academy.com, course content, quizzes, progress tracking, notes, certificates, and related services (the "Service").
By creating an account, buying a course, accessing free lessons, or otherwise using the Service, the person using the Service (the "Customer" or "you") agrees to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms also apply when a course is purchased through Gumroad and access is later delivered through Syllaro Academy.
Who We Are
Syllaro Academy is the business name used by Fawzy Mohamed, an individual sole-proprietor resident in Egypt (the "Seller"). Syllaro Academy provides text-first online technology courses, currently focused on AWS certification preparation.
Syllaro Academy is not a corporation, limited liability company, or public institution. References to "Syllaro Academy" in these Terms mean the Service and the Seller operating under that business name.
Definitions
"Account" means the login account used to access the Service.
"Course" means a paid or free educational course, including lessons, quizzes, notes features, progress tracking, and certificates where available.
"Content" means lessons, text, explanations, quizzes, examples, diagrams, screenshots, course structure, metadata, certificates, and other material made available through the Service.
"Free Content" means lessons or previews made available without payment.
"Paid Content" means Course material that requires a completed purchase or valid access grant.
"Purchase" means a completed transaction through Gumroad or another approved payment provider used by Syllaro Academy.
"Service" means the Syllaro Academy website, learning platform, Course Content, account system, and related features.
Account Registration and Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an Account or use the Service. If the law where you live requires a higher age to enter into an online contract, you must meet that higher age requirement.
You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your Account.
Each person may maintain one Account unless Syllaro Academy gives written permission for another arrangement. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold, rented, transferred, or used by multiple people.
The Service
Syllaro Academy provides structured, text-first educational Courses for technology learners. The launch Course is AWS Cloud Practitioner certification preparation, with lessons, quizzes, progress tracking, study schedule features, notes, and a verifiable certificate when completion requirements are met.
Some lessons or Course areas may be available as Free Content. Full Course access requires a completed Purchase unless Syllaro Academy grants access through a promotion, scholarship, testing arrangement, or other written approval.
Paid Course purchases provide lifetime access to the purchased Course for the life of the Service. Lifetime access means access is not limited to a fixed number of months after purchase. It does not mean the Service must operate forever, that every feature will remain unchanged, or that Syllaro Academy must support obsolete technologies indefinitely.
Future updates to the purchased Course, including planned language additions when they ship, are included unless a product page clearly states otherwise before purchase.
Payments and Pricing
Paid Courses are sold in USD unless the checkout page shows another currency. Prices may change over time. A price change does not affect a Purchase already completed.
Gumroad is the active payment processor and partial Merchant of Record for current Course purchases. Gumroad processes checkout, payment method details, receipts, refunds, and applicable VAT, GST, sales tax, or similar indirect taxes where Gumroad is responsible for doing so.
Syllaro Academy does not store full card numbers, bank account numbers, or payment authentication credentials on its own servers.
After a Gumroad Purchase, course access is linked to the email address used at checkout. If you do not already have an Account, create one with the same email address used for the Purchase so the Service can unlock access.
License Grant
After a valid Purchase, Syllaro Academy grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the purchased Paid Content for your own learning.
This license does not allow you to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, share, publish, or redistribute Course Content.
- Share Account access with another person.
- Copy substantial parts of a Course into another product, course, website, dataset, or training material.
- Scrape, crawl, bulk download, or automate extraction from the Service.
- Use Course Content, quizzes, explanations, notes exports, or structured lesson data to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or populate an artificial intelligence or machine learning system without prior written permission from Syllaro Academy.
- Remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or proprietary notices.
- Bypass paywalls, access controls, rate limits, or security features.
All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Syllaro Academy.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful personal learning purposes. You may not:
- Share paid access with another person or organization.
- Upload, submit, or store unlawful, abusive, infringing, or harmful material.
- Abuse free preview lessons, refunds, discounts, promotions, or trial-like features.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another Account, a server, a database, or a private area of the Service.
- Interfere with the security, reliability, or availability of the Service.
- Use the Service to violate intellectual property, privacy, consumer protection, export control, or other applicable laws.
- Misrepresent Syllaro Academy, the Seller, Gumroad, AWS, Amazon, or any certification body.
Syllaro Academy may investigate suspected abuse and may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, customers, payment processors, or legal rights.
Intellectual Property
The Service and Content are owned by Syllaro Academy or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, database, and other intellectual property laws.
Buying a Course gives you access to learn from the Course. It does not transfer ownership of the Course, Content, software, brand, design, certificates, lesson structure, quiz bank, or other intellectual property.
AWS is a registered trademark of Amazon Web Services, Inc. Amazon Web Services, AWS, and related marks are the property of Amazon Web Services, Inc. or its affiliates. Syllaro Academy is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Amazon or Amazon Web Services, Inc. References to AWS and AWS certifications are descriptive only.
User-Generated Content
The Service may allow you to create private lesson notes or other learning records (the "User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content.
By storing User Content in the Service, you grant Syllaro Academy a limited permission to host, process, back up, sync, display, and transmit that User Content only as needed to operate the Service, secure the platform, comply with law, or respond to your support request.
Lesson notes are private to your Account. Syllaro Academy does not surveil private lesson notes or read them for marketing. Access to private notes is limited to technical operation, security, legal compliance, or support cases where you ask for help.
You are responsible for the User Content you create. Do not store content that violates law, infringes another person's rights, or includes sensitive information that is not needed for learning.
Refunds
Syllaro Academy offers a money-back guarantee for 30 days after purchase for eligible Gumroad Course purchases. The Refund Policy at https://www.syllaro-academy.com/refund is the source of truth for refund eligibility, request steps, processing time, abuse protection, and chargeback handling.
If there is any conflict between this summary and the Refund Policy, the Refund Policy controls.
Account Suspension and Termination
Syllaro Academy may suspend or terminate an Account or Course access if:
- These Terms are violated.
- Payment is refunded, reversed, charged back, or found to be fraudulent.
- Account sharing, piracy, scraping, abuse, or security risk is detected.
- Continued access would create legal, security, operational, or payment processor risk.
When reasonable, Syllaro Academy will give notice by email before or after suspension. Immediate action may be taken when necessary to protect the Service, customers, or legal rights.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your Account or personal data as described in the Privacy Policy at https://www.syllaro-academy.com/privacy.
Termination does not remove obligations that by their nature should continue, including intellectual property restrictions, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution terms.
Disclaimers
The Service provides educational content for self-paced learning and exam preparation. It does not provide legal, tax, financial, employment, immigration, or professional certification advice.
Syllaro Academy does not guarantee that you will pass an exam, obtain a job, receive a promotion, earn a certificate from a third party, or achieve a specific professional outcome.
Course Content is prepared with care, but technology platforms, certification objectives, exam guides, prices, and vendor services can change. Syllaro Academy may update Content over time but does not promise that every page will be current at every moment.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Syllaro Academy and the Seller will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost opportunity, lost data, business interruption, exam failure, or loss of goodwill.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Syllaro Academy and the Seller for any claim relating to the Service or a Purchase is limited to the amount you paid to Syllaro Academy for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law does not allow limitation, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or non-waivable consumer rights.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Syllaro Academy and the Seller from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your misuse of the Service or Content.
- Your User Content.
- Your violation of another person's rights or applicable law.
- Your unauthorized sharing, resale, copying, scraping, or redistribution of Content.
This obligation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
Syllaro Academy may update these Terms when the Service changes, payment providers change, legal requirements change, or operational needs require an update.
The latest version will be posted at https://www.syllaro-academy.com/terms with the last reviewed date. For material changes, Syllaro Academy may also provide notice by email, in-app notice, checkout notice, or another reasonable method.
Continued use of the Service after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the Service and contact support about any available options.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Egypt, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Before starting a formal dispute, you agree to contact support@syllaro-academy.com and give Syllaro Academy a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of Egypt will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your place of residence require another forum or give you non-waivable rights.
